| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Leon F. Walsh of Marengo, who passed away | 4 | | on January 29, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Leon Walsh was born in Chicago to Leo and | 6 | | Josephine (Dolata) Wolski on June 12, 1931; he served in the | 7 | | United States Marines during the Korean War and married Audrey | 8 | | (Stephan) Walsh on August 7, 1954; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Leon Walsh spent his career in the printing | 10 | | business as a hand-set typesetter and proofreader; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Leon Walsh was a 3rd-4th Degree member of the | 12 | | Knights of Columbus, a past Grand Knight of the Queen of Peace | 13 | | Council in Barrington, a charter member of the Sacred Heart | 14 | | Council in Marengo, and an active member of St. Monica's Parish | 15 | | in Carpentersville for 47 years; he was a member of Veterans of | 16 | | Foreign Wars 1612; he enjoyed traveling and camping with his | 17 | | family; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Leon Walsh was preceded in death by his parents; | 19 | | his sisters, Alice (John) Ross, and Irene (Edward) Sanders; his | 20 | | nephew, Robert Ross; his niece, Carole Cannon; and his | 21 | | grandson, Alex Walsh; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Leon Walsh is survived by his wife, Audrey; his | 2 | | daughter, Karen (Larry) Rokusek, Chris Walsh, Craig (Pam) | 3 | | Walsh, Kevin (Jenifer) Walsh, and Corey (Barbara) Walsh; his | 4 | | grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Rokusek, Johnathan (Sarah), | 5 | | Jessica, Bryan (Samantha), Brandon (Kelsee), Andrew, David, | 6 | | Ashley, Austin, and Jared Walsh; his great-grandchildren, | 7 | | Ryleigh and Emilio; and four generations of nieces and nephews; | 8 | | therefore, be it
