SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth E. Pahlke of Johnsburg, who passed away on January 21, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Pahlke was born in Oak Park to Erwin F. and Beverly J. (Strobel) Pahlke on April 25, 1954; he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and married Laura Kopin in Chicago on November 18, 1986; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Pahlke began his career as a paramedic in 1976 with Paramedic Service of Illinois, where he was employed for over 35 years; during his tenure, he worked in Berwyn, Lemont, and Franklin Park; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Pahlke enjoyed boating, fishing, and traveling to Hawaii with his wife; he took pride in the retirement home he built in Johnsburg; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Pahlke was preceded in death by his father, Erwin, and his brother, Steven; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Pahlke is survived by his wife of 30 years, Laura; his daughter, Stephanie Pahlke; his mother, Beverly (Dr. Louis) Lenell; his brother, William (Christine) Pahlke; and his sister, Jeanne Pahlke; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kenneth E. Pahlke, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenneth Pahlke as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
