SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael E. Foss of Colona, who passed away on August 14, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Michael Foss was born in Moline to Earling and Mary Alice (Woolley) Foss on September 15, 1945; he served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Stallion; he married Joann Howlett in East Moline on June 13, 1965; and

WHEREAS, Michael Foss was employed as a machine repairman for John Deere Co.; and

WHEREAS, Michael Foss was an active Master Mason in Clement Lodge #680 and Silvis Lodge #898, where he was joined by his son and three grandsons; he enjoyed cooking, gardening, street rods, bicycling, eating breakfast with friends and family, and traveling, especially to Las Vegas with Joann; and

WHEREAS, Michael Foss was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers; and

WHEREAS, Michael Foss is survived by his wife, Joann, his daughters, Penny (David) Lasche, Pamela (Jeff) Beckner, Patricia Keith, and Peggy Knaack; his son, Michael Foss Jr.; his ten grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; and his dogs, Pumpkin and Yoda; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael E. Foss and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Foss as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
