SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski of Marengo, who passed away on January 25, 2017 at the age of 84; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski was born in Rockford to Theodore and Elsie (Lenz) Nork on May 24, 1932; she was a 1950 graduate of Marengo High School and in 1954, graduated from Valparaiso University in Indiana; she later studied abroad at the University of Mainz in Germany, and represented the Institute of International Education of New York in their exchange student program; she received her Master of Arts from Middlebury College in Vermont; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski began her teaching career at Elgin High School teaching German and Spanish, leaving to study abroad; upon the completion of her studies, she returned to Elgin and devoted 28 years to teaching language arts at Elgin Community College; and

WHEREAS, Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski served Marengo as a member of the Marengo Planning and Zoning Commission and as a member of the Marengo Society for Historic Preservation; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
