SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William "Bill" C. Friedrichsen of Hillsdale, who passed away on September 18, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Bill Friedrichsen was born in Moline to Glen and Estella Verplaetse Friedrichsen on July 30, 1937; he married Sandy Swanson in Montebello, California on June 22, 1957; and

WHEREAS, Bill Friedrichsen served in the United States Army from 1961 until 1963; the couple them moved back to Hillsdale, and he worked as an electrician at Oscar Mayer Co. in Davenport until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Bill Friedrichsen was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir; he enjoyed watching and playing golf and gardening; his greatest joy was watching his grandchildren's sporting, musical, and theatrical events; and

WHEREAS, Bill Friedrichsen was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Bill Friedrichsen is survived by his wife, Sandy; his children, Diana (John) Johnson and Mike (Nicky) Friedrichsen; his grandchildren, Johanna, Noah, Gabe, Elijah, and Grace; his cousin, Arllyn Haynes; his nephew, Bill Swanson; and his niece, Christine Frye; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William "Bill" C. Friedrichsen and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bill Friedrichsen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
