SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dan E. Parr, who passed away on September
48, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dan Parr was born in Waukegan to Dan Parr and
6Alice Hilda (Steele) on August 22, 1925; he served in the U.S.
7Air Force as a navigator from 1944 to 1946; he married Dorothy
8Pasiewicz, and they had 54 years together and raised two
9daughters; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dan Parr built a career in manufacturing sales; he
11retired after 38 years with Fansteel/HK Porter; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dan Parr met Mary (Mavon) Ellmore in Dunedin,
13Florida in 2001; he enjoyed having family and friends visit him
14in Florida and at his home at Pine Lake in Clintonville,
15Wisconsin; at the age of 86, he was proud to participate in an
16Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dan Parr was preceded in death by his wife,
18Dorothy (Pasiewicz); his daughter, Geraldine Parr; his
19parents; his sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Shisler; and his
20sons-in-law, Kurt McKenzie and Gerald T. Altman; and

1    WHEREAS, Dan Parr is survived by Mavon; his daughter, Linda
2Parr Altman (Robert Marling); his granddaughter, Daniellinda
3Schooley (Eric Schleef); and his great-granddaughter, Audrey
4Delilah Schleef; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Dan E. Parr and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
8friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Dan Parr as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
