SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond E. Garner of Milan, who passed away on October 22, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Garner was born in Quincy to James and Lucy Garner on October 5, 1932; he was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Korea; he married Audrey C. Nelson in LaGrange, Missouri on December 20, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Garner worked as a welder at John Deere and retired in 1995; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Garner enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his daughters; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Garner was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey; his parents; his brothers, Howard Garner and Gene Garner; and his sisters-in-law, Judith Hager and Roberta Hager Baumer; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Garner is survived by his daughters, Rita K. Garner and Colleen Stark; his grandchildren, Brandon R. Garner, Victoria Stark, and Tyler Stark; his great-grandchildren, Chase Garner and Eliza Garner; and his brother, Herbert Wayne Garner; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Raymond E. Garner and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Raymond Garner as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
