SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rita F. (Babic) Keefe of Belleville, who passed away on February 26, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Rita Keefe was born in Granite City to Walter and Bernice (Mendrys) Babic on November 14, 1951; she started working at the age of 16, after the death of her father; and

WHEREAS, Rita Keefe's greatest satisfaction was doing for others; she admired kindness and the truth; she believed in the importance of a safe, secure, and loving environment and raised her children in a home filled with examples of how to live a good life; and

WHEREAS, Rita Keefe was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, At the time of her death, Rita Keefe was survived by her husband, Thomas Q. Keefe Jr.; her children, Thomas Q. (Jennifer Mann) Keefe III, Courtney Keefe, Kelli (Clay) Spoeneman, and Matthew (Samantha Unsell) Keefe; her grandsons, Max Keefe and Jack Spoeneman; her sisters, Rosemary (Carl) Allison and Susan (Mark) Carnoali; and her many other family members and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rita F. (Babic) Keefe and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rita Keefe as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
