SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Emily M. DuPree of Beach Park, who passed away on February 13, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Emily DuPree was born in Waukegan to Edward and Rosa Perez on August 14, 1937; she married Donald DuPree at Our Lady of Humility Church in Zion on February 11, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Emily DuPree worked in the activity department of the Crown Manor Nursing Home in Zion for 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Emily DuPree was a charter member of Our Lady of Humility Church and remained active as the church organist and in many other roles throughout the years; and

WHEREAS, Emily DuPree was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Anna DuPree; and her siblings, Julia Prickett, Angelo Perez, Joe Perez, Helen Murillo, and Linda Garcia; and

WHEREAS, Emily DuPree is survived by her husband of 61 years, Don; her children, Jim (Kim) DuPree, and Jane (Jon) Oye; her grandchildren, Justin and Jessica DuPree, and Matthew, Abigail, and Andrew Oye; and her siblings, Theresa Gorman, Jennie Adams, Dolores Karner, Rosie (Bill) Jones, Eddie (Audrey) Perez, and Richard (Elizabeth) Perez; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Emily M. DuPree, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Emily DuPree as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
