SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Theodore D. Schweder of McHenry, who passed away on January 30, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Theodore Schweder was born in McHenry to Daniel E. and Aurelia M. (Breivogel) Schweder on July 24, 1935; he married Shirley Diedrichs at Our Lady of Grace in Chicago on November 24, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Theodore Schweder was a longtime employee of the Temple Steel Company; he opened his own steel lamination business, PSW Industries; he invested in many McHenry real estate ventures, including various retail establishments and apartment complexes; and

WHEREAS, Theodore Schweder enjoyed reading, playing golf, and "doing lunch" with his family and friends; a recent highlight was celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day with his wife and all of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in attendance; and

WHEREAS, Theodore Schweder helped lead many parish fundraisers at St. Patrick Catholic Church, including Town and Country and Montini Bingo; he was Cub Scout Leader of Pack 351; and

WHEREAS, Theodore Schweder was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Teddy Schweder Jr.; and his brother, Robert E. Schweder; and

WHEREAS, Theodore Schweder is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley; his children, Gary (Cynthia) Schweder, Paul Schweder (Karin Rada), James (Brenda) Schweder, and Lori (Mike) Mazrin; his grandchildren, Gary (Emily) Schweder, Jake (Natosha) Schweder, Sarah (Kyle) Kanzler, Nicki (Rafael) Perez, Joshua Mazrin, Teddy Mazrin, Michael Mazrin, James Schweder, and Liam Schweder; his great-grandchildren, Bella, Maddy, and Lianna Perez, Aurelia and Maci Rose Schweder, and Lilyan Kanzler; his siblings, Jack (Anne) Schweder, and Gail (John) Powers; and his sister-in-law, Joanne (Schweder) Burton; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Theodore D. Schweder, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Theodore Schweder as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
