SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are sadden to
3learn of the death of Cynthia R. Harris of McHenry, who passed
4away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the age of 68; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris was born in Waukegan to the late
6Earl Schultz and Gloria Obenauf on June 27, 1948; she married
7Richard Harris in McHenry on August 17, 1968; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris spent 11 years as a 4-H member, and
9dedicated 30 more years to being a 4-H Club Leader and 4-H
10Community Worker in McHenry County; she volunteered as a
11parent, grandparent, community club leader, and chaperone to
12almost every possible 4-H event, from country, regional, and
13state levels; her passion was working with 4-H members and
14watching them develop the life skills they learn in 4-H; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris embodied the spirit of "making the
16best better!"; she was an active member of the First United
17Methodist Church in Crystal Lake, serving on many committees,
18was a Sunday School teacher, as well as the wedding
19coordinator; she was an avid gardener, sewer, quilter, and she
20loved cooking and trying new recipes; she loved spending time
21with her family, especially her grandchildren, coaching them in
22their needed life skills; and

1    WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris is survived by her two daughters,
2Meredith (Donald) Sena, and Nancy (Frank) Kowalski; three
3grandchildren, Robert (fiance Alexandra Mineau) Harris, and
4Tonya and Katrina Kowalski; her sister, Linda (Allen) Freund;
5her brothers, Kevin (Pam) Schultz, Kelvin (Sarah) Schultz, and
6Kerry (Gwyn) Schultz; and many nieces and nephews; therefore,
7be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Cynthia R. Harris, and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Cynthia Harris as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
