SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are sadden to learn of the death of Cynthia R. Harris of McHenry, who passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the age of 68; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris was born in Waukegan to the late Earl Schultz and Gloria Obenauf on June 27, 1948; she married Richard Harris in McHenry on August 17, 1968; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris spent 11 years as a 4-H member, and dedicated 30 more years to being a 4-H Club Leader and 4-H Community Worker in McHenry County; she volunteered as a parent, grandparent, community club leader, and chaperone to almost every possible 4-H event, from country, regional, and state levels; her passion was working with 4-H members and watching them develop the life skills they learn in 4-H; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris embodied the spirit of "making the best better!"; she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake, serving on many committees, was a Sunday School teacher, as well as the wedding coordinator; she was an avid gardener, sewer, quilter, and she loved cooking and trying new recipes; she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, coaching them in their needed life skills; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris is survived by her two daughters, Meredith (Donald) Sena, and Nancy (Frank) Kowalski; three grandchildren, Robert (fiance Alexandra Mineau) Harris, and Tonya and Katrina Kowalski; her sister, Linda (Allen) Freund; her brothers, Kevin (Pam) Schultz, Kelvin (Sarah) Schultz, and Kerry (Gwyn) Schultz; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Cynthia R. Harris, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Cynthia Harris as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
