| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Gladys M. O'Keefe of Joliet, who passed | 4 | | away on March 4, 2017 at the age of 91; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gladys O'Keefe was a lifelong resident of Joliet; | 6 | | her main role was a stay-at-home mother, however, she also | 7 | | supported her husband every step of the way in their | 8 | | family-owned business; she later went on to work at Silver | 9 | | Cross Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1991; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Gladys O'Keefe was a devoted mother, grandmother, | 11 | | and great-grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her | 12 | | family; she was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed praying the | 13 | | Rosary; she had a special bond with her sister, Donna, with | 14 | | whom she lived for many years; she was a dedicated fan of the | 15 | | Chicago Bears, and an avid reader; she enjoyed word searches, | 16 | | and watching "General Hospital"; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Gladys O'Keefe was honored with a Senate | 18 | | Recognition Certificate from the State of Illinois on her 90th | 19 | | birthday; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Gladys O'Keefe was preceded in death by her | 21 | | husband, Harold F. O'Keefe; her parents, Vincent and Mildred; |

| 1 | | and her sisters, Katy, Mary, Donna, and Elsie; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Gladys O'Keefe is survived by her daughters, | 3 | | Kathleen (Theodore) Scitar, and Erin (Robert) Boseo; her | 4 | | grandchildren, Robert (Cassandra) Klancher, Amy, Rebecca, | 5 | | Michael, and Luke; her great-grandchildren, Braelyn and Jaxson | 6 | | Klancher; and a special cousin, Leila Ryan; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Gladys M. O'Keefe, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 11 | | further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Gladys O'Keefe as an expression of | 14 | | our deepest sympathy.
