SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donald E. Rhodes of Crystal Lake, who
4passed away on February 28, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Rhodes was born in Chicago to Elliott and
6Elsie (Ungeheuer) Rhodes on October 24, 1933; he was a veteran
7of the United States Army and married Carol L. Overton in
8Chicago on May 4, 1957; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Donald Rhodes worked at ITW/Shakeproof for 35
10years; he was an avid trumpet player, playing for over 60
11years; he played in many groups over the years including the
12Woodstock City Band, John Guerra Band, Vito Buffalo Band,
13McHenry City Band, MCC Band, Sun City Concert Band, and the
14Sinful Saints; he also played Taps for many veterans; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Donald Rhodes was a member of the American Legion
16and a longtime member of First Congregational Church in Crystal
17Lake; he will be greatly missed by his family and friends; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Donald Rhodes was preceded in death by his parents
19and his nephew, Raymond Moore; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Donald Rhodes is survived by his wife, Carol; his

1sons, David (Janice) Rhodes, and Jeffrey (Vicky) Rhodes; his
2grandchildren, Jessica, Zachary, and Thomas "TJ" Rhodes; his
3sister, Janet (Bob) Greer; and his nephew, Eddie Moore;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Donald E. Rhodes, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Donald Rhodes as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
