SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James Frederick May of Richmond, who
4passed away on February 28, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James May was born in Spring Grove to Fred and
6Evelyn (Deinlein) May on July 8, 1935; after attending Grant
7High School, he joined the United States Air Force and served
8as an Airman Second Class with the 420th Air Refueling Squadron
9from 1954 to 1957; and
 
10    WHEREAS, James May worked as a machinist at Union Special,
11Signode, and ITW for many years, retiring in 2000; he was a
12member of Paul C. Hoffman American Legion Post #253 in Richmond
13and the Woodstock Moose; he loved bowling, reading, movies, and
14had an extensive music collection; and
 
15    WHEREAS, James May was preceded in death by his parents and
16three nephews; and
 
17    WHEREAS, James May is survived by two sisters, Janet May
18and Elizabeth Tesch; three brothers, Peter May, Roger May, and
19William (Marlene) May; and numerous nieces and nephews and
20their families; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3James Frederick May, and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of James May as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
