SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Daniel J. Naert of East Moline, who
4passed away on March 18, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Daniel Naert was born in East Moline to Eugene and
6Mary Anna Neels Naert on July 12, 1925; he graduated from St.
7Anne School in 1939 and United Township High School in 1943; he
8served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II
9from 1943 to 1945 as a B-17 tail gunner; he graduated from
10Bradley University in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science; he
11married Anna Mae Hollembaek at St. Joseph Catholic Church in
12Rock Island on August 25, 1951 and earned his Master of Science
13in 1952; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Daniel Naert retired from Rock Island Arsenal in
151987 after 34 years of service; he also taught for seven years
16in the following schools: Alleman High School, where he was a
17member of the first faculty in 1949, United Township High
18School, Hampton Elementary School, where he served as principal
19and superintendent, and Ajo High School, Ajo, Arizona; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Daniel Naert was a lifetime member of St. Anne
21Catholic Church in East Moline; and

1    WHEREAS, Daniel Naert was preceded in death by his wife,
2Anna; his infant son, Joseph Naert; his parents; his siblings,
3Elizabeth DeClercq, Frances Long, Charles Naert, Helen
4Kerschieter, and Ann Marie Naert; and his son-in-law, Jim
5Kuehnel; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Daniel Naert is survived by his children, Roch A.
7(Julie) Naert, Mary Ann Kuehnel, and Dr. John J. (Kim) Naert;
8his grandchildren, Amanda (Dan) Miller, Raechel Naert, Roch
9(Kelsie) Naert, Maria (Tom) Hutchinson, Tom (Katie) Naert,
10David Naert, Michael Naert, James Naert, and Beth Kuehnel; his
11great-grandchildren, Brianna, Andrew, Matthew, and Quinn; and
12his god-granddaughter, Emily; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Daniel J. Naert, and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Daniel Naert as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
