SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James Arthur LaGreca of Wonder Lake, who
4passed away on March 22, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James LaGreca was born in Chicago to Arthur and
6Edna (Johnson) LaGreca on June 21, 1934; he served in the
7United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1954 and married
8Barbara Alexis Hagan at Nativity Lutheran Church in Wonder Lake
9on November 10, 1954; and
 
10    WHEREAS, James LaGreca served as a firefighter with the
11Chicago Fire Department; he retired as Battalion Chief after 17
12years of service and began his second career in real estate; he
13was known throughout the Wonder Lake community and affiliated
14with Sullivan Realty in Wonder Lake for many years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, James LaGreca was a longtime member of Nativity
16Lutheran Church in Wonder Lake; he was an avid outdoorsman and
17enjoyed hunting and fishing; in his younger years, he enjoyed
18racquetball; he was devoted to his family and delighted in
19spending time with them; and
 
20    WHEREAS, James LaGreca was preceded in death by his
21parents; his son, Scott; and his sister, Barbara Fiala; and

1    WHEREAS, James LaGreca is survived by his wife of 62 years,
2Barbara; his children, Susan LaGreca, Anthony (Kay) LaGreca,
3and David (Alice) LaGreca; his daughter-in-law, Chris LaGreca;
4his sister, Sharon Doyle; 10 grandchildren; and several
5great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8James Arthur LaGreca, and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of James LaGreca as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
