SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edith J. Nichols of Crystal Lake, who passed away on March 23, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Edith Nichols was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 19, 1928; and

WHEREAS, Edith Nichols retired after 20 years as an administrative assistant at McHenry County College; and

WHEREAS, Edith Nichols enjoyed making creative Halloween displays at the college; she loved animals, reading, sewing, and art, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family; and

WHEREAS, Edith Nichols was the beloved wife of the late Burnett W.; the loving mother of Sue and the late John Nichols; and the devoted grandmother of Erica Escamilla, Jordanne, Grace, and Isabel Nichols; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edith J. Nichols, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edith Nichols as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
