SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Pamela Jean Christian of North Chicago, who passed away on March 5, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Pamela Christian was born in Waukegan to Horace and Rachel (Woods) Montgomery Jr. on October 3, 1949; she majored in nursing at Northern Michigan University and married Dorsey Christian Jr. in North Chicago on September 15, 1973; and

WHEREAS, Pamela Christian was a registered nurse for 45 years; she was formerly employed at St. Therese Medical Center and the VA Hospital; she retired from Advocate Condell Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Pamela Christian was a member of Way Through The Word Ministry Church, where she was part of the women's ministry and the set-up committee; she enjoyed traveling, eating at various restaurants, baking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Pamela Christian was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Horace "Corkey" Montgomery; and

WHEREAS, Pamela Christian is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dorsey Christian Jr.; her son, Dorsey (Niki) Christian III; her grandchildren, Jaymina Handy, Acquennetta F. Abrams, and Dorsey Christian IV; one great-grandchild, Jonessa Foster; her siblings, Geetanjali Singh, Michelle (Dean) McGee, Robert (Chris) Montgomery, and David Montgomery; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Pamela Jean Christian, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Pamela Christian as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
