SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dennis Gordon Bailey of Princeville, who
4passed away on April 5, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dennis Bailey was born in Cairo to Carl E. Bailey
6and Dorothy M. (Ogborn) Bailey on April 22, 1948; he graduated
7from Woodruff High School in Peoria in the class of 1966 and
8from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science in
9Accounting in 1970; he served in the Army National Guard from
101969 to 1974 and married Marcia Ellen Redenius in Peoria on
11August 23, 1969; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dennis Bailey built his career as a CPA at
13Peat-Marwick; he worked with CliftonLarsonAllen in Peoria
14until his retirement in 2012 after 42 years in public
15accounting and worked during his retirement with his sons at
16Robert W. Baird and Co., Inc; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dennis Bailey served his community in many
18capacities, including leadership roles at Redeemer Lutheran
19Church, the Creve Coeur Club of Peoria, Children's Hospital of
20Illinois, Concordia Lutheran School Board, the Country Club of
21Peoria, the Lutheran Hillside Village, and the Red Cross of
22Central Illinois; and

1    WHEREAS, Dennis Bailey dedicated his life to providing his
2family with the stability, leadership, and memories they will
3always cherish and was happiest when surrounded by his family;
4and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dennis Bailey is survived by his wife, Marcy; his
6sons, Jeff (Stephanie) Bailey, and Jayme (Kelly) Bailey; his
7grandchildren, Jeffrey Bailey Jr., Jenny Baily, and Kelsey,
8Kyla, and Ryan Bailey; his brother, David (Vicki) Bailey; his
9brother-in-law, Dr. William Redenius; his niece, Alisha (Matt)
10Schoedel; and his nephew, Aaron (Anne) Bailey; therefore, be it
 
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Dennis Gordon Bailey, and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Dennis Bailey as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
