SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Fred L. "Scotty" Scott of Moline, who
4passed away on April 4, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Fred Scott was born in Moline to Fred and Eva
6Hoover Scott on August 11, 1929; he served in the United States
7Army Air Corps during the later part of World War II; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Fred Scott was a fireman in Monmouth when he
9returned from the service; he drove trucks across the United
10States and Canada for many years, receiving many citations
11while helping others on the road; he retired from Eagle Foods
12in 1991 and owned his own construction business until his
13retirement; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Fred Scott enjoyed working and traveling around
15the world; he also enjoyed having coffee with his friends at
16Smokey's, McDonald's, and the Family Restaurant; he had been a
17lifelong member of the VFW and was a member of First Freewill
18Baptist Church in Colona; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Fred Scott was preceded in death by his parents;
20his stepfather, Clarence Boozier; his son, Bobby Scott; his
21grandson, Jason Scott; and two brothers; and

1    WHEREAS, Fred Scott is survived by his children, Jim Scott,
2Larry (Jolene) Scott, Theresa (Alfie) Bivens, Tammy Nees; 10
3grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and special friends,
4Bob and Rhonda Nees; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Fred L. "Scotty" Scott, and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Fred Scott as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
