SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond E. "Ray" Bucher of Godfrey, who
4passed away on April 11, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Bucher was born in Cairo to Aloysius C.
6"Dutch" and Ruby (Copeland) Bucher on January 22, 1928; he was
7a Corporal with the United States Army and served in Japan
8during the Korean War; he married Sherry Greathouse on October
914, 1950; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Raymond Bucher owned and operated Bucher Glass Co.
11Inc. until he retired in 1993; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Raymond Bucher was a former member of Holy Ghost
13Catholic Church in Jerseyville; he belonged to the Godfrey
14Knights of Columbus and was a 20-year member of the New
15Horizons Band; he loved hunting, fishing, and was the founding
16board member of the Godfrey Sportsman's Club in Pleasant Hill;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Raymond Bucher was preceded in death by his
19parents; his son, Jon Bucher; his brother, Donald "Diz" Bucher;
20and his sister, Mary Kay "Kacky" Booher; and

1    WHEREAS, Raymond Bucher is survived by his wife of 66
2years, Sherry; his children, Mike (Jan) Bucher, Ed Bucher,
3Linda (Brad) Wheaton, Carol (Pat) Kerwin, Mari (Paul)
4Fahrendorf, and Anne (Ted) Palles; his 22 grandchildren; and
5his brother, Robert (Josephine) Bucher; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Raymond E. "Ray" Bucher, and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Raymond Bucher as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
