SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Anthony Pedote of Elgin, who passed away
4on April 2, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Anthony Pedote was born to Linda "Sigi" (Scheel)
6Psimenos on August 13, 1970 and adopted by Frank Pedote; he
7graduated from Oak Park-River Forest High School in 1988 and
8earned his bachelor's degree in political science from Southern
9Methodist University in 1992; he received his Juris Doctorate
10from Hamline University in 1994; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Anthony Pedote was a former planning and zoning
12commissioner for Elgin; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Anthony Pedote was active with numerous community
14groups, including the Elgin Climate Change Organization and the
15Elgin Community Network; he organized the Elgin Community
16Carnival and the Elgin Winter Market; he volunteered at many
17community events and helped plan and cook for community
18dinners; and
 
19    WHEREAS, In 2013, Anthony Pedote received the Elgin Image
20Award and the Illinois Farmers Market Advocate of the Year
21Award; and

1    WHEREAS, Anthony Pedote was preceded in death by his
2parents; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Anthony Pedote is survived by his aunts and
4uncles, Dietmar and Angela Scheel, Carol (Pat) Colford, and
5Brigitte Scheel; numerous cousins; and many dear friends;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Anthony Pedote, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Anthony Pedote as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
