SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Arthur Earl Keegan Jr., formerly of
4LaGrange and Chicago, who passed away at the age of 87; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Arthur Keegan Jr. served in the United States Navy
6during the Korean War; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Arthur Keegan Jr. was a school teacher at Jones
8Commercial High School in Chicago for 30 years, where he taught
9accountancy, data processing, business law, business math, and
10chaired the department for many years; he also coordinated the
11Office Occupations program and was proud of having written the
12Chicago Teachers Union contract article that governed
13occupation programs like Office Occupations, Distributive
14Education, and Industrial Cooperative Education; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Arthur Keegan Jr. was an active member of the
16Retired Teachers Association of Chicago, where he was elected
17director shortly after joining; in 2008, he was elected
18treasurer, and in 2014, he was elected second vice-president;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Arthur Keegan Jr. was a world traveler
21extraordinaire, having visited no less than 68 countries; and

1    WHEREAS, Arthur Keegan Jr. was the former husband of
2Shirley Keegan-Kollenberg; the devoted father of Arthur
3(Patricia), Kevin (Tamara), Kelly (Denise), Patrick Keegan
4(Bob Strada), and the late Brian Keegan; the cherished
5grandfather of Connor, Kourtney, Christopher, Nicole, Cole,
6Megan, Jack, and Thomas Keegan; and the dear uncle and friend
7of many; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Arthur Earl Keegan Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Arthur Keegan Jr. as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
