SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James M. Matesevac Sr., who passed away
4on April 18, 2017 at the age of 66; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Matesevac was a longtime member and former
6treasurer of Painters Union Local 33 in Joliet; and
 
7    WHEREAS, James Matesevac enjoyed fishing, gardening,
8whittling, storytelling, and was an amateur gold prospector; he
9would never pass up the opportunity for an adventure and had a
10magnetic personality with a kind and caring heart; and
 
11    WHEREAS, James Matesevac was affectionately known as
12"Poppa Donut" to his grandchildren; and
 
13    WHEREAS, James Matesevac was preceded in death by his
14parents, Edward Sr. and Edna (Worden) Matesevac; his brothers,
15Thomas L. Matesevac, Edward Matesevac Jr., Raymond Matesevac,
16and Robert Matesevac Sr.; and
 
17    WHEREAS, James Matesevac is survived by his loving wife of
1826 years, Nancy M. (Goldasich); his children, Candace L.
19(Brian) Thomas, Justin D. Ashley, Emily C.M. (Miklos) Simon,
20Elizabeth A. Ashley, Mary A. Ashley, James M. (Catanya)

1Matesevac Jr., Nicholas E. F. Matesevac, and Matthew J.
2Goldasich Matesevac; his grandchildren, Aurora and Zayd
3Matesevac, and Bennett and Graham Thomas; his sisters, Mary Jo
4(Tom) Kirk, and Terri Lynn (Tim) Higgins; and many nieces and
5nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8James M. Matesevac Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of James Matesevac as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
