SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marvin E. Lang Jr. of Woodstock, who passed away on April 15, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Lang was born in Medford, Wisconsin to Marvin E. and Grace (Patterson) Lang on July 3, 1936; he married Dorothy Gilkerson on June 23, 1962; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Lang worked for ComEd for 39 years until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Lang was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Woodstock; he was an American Cribbage Grand Master and a member of the American Cribbage Conference; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Lang was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; his daughter-in-law, Amy; and his siblings, Peggy Scheel, and Jules "Dutes" Lang; and

WHEREAS, Marvin Lang is survived by his children, Marvin III (Laura) and Victoria Lang; his grandchildren, Candice (Dan) Nieves, and Casey Troyer; his great-grandchildren, Alexis, Briana, and Naomi; his brother, George (Joyce) Lang; and his stepmother, Lulumae Lang; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marvin E. Lang Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marvin Lang as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
