SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of David Reinhardt Wolf, who passed away on
4May 8, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, David Wolf was born in Des Plaines to Reinhardt
6and Louise Wolf on January 2, 1931; he married Elizabeth Dobson
7in 1954; and
 
8    WHEREAS, David Wolf joined the Des Plaines Fire Department
9in 1952 as the fifth paid firefighter; he served as a United
10States Army firefighter in Zweibrucken, Germany from 1955 to
111957; he returned to the Des Plaines Fire Department,
12eventually retiring as deputy chief in 1975; he served as
13deputy chief of the Elk Grove Township Fire Department for its
14first two years and was a responder to the Flight 191 crash;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, David Wolf was active in Des Plaines, serving with
17numerous organizations, including the American Legion, the
18First Congregational United Church of Christ choir, the Des
19Plaines Professional Firefighters Association IAFF Local 4211,
20the Lions Club, the Des Plaines Illinois Sesquicentennial
21Commission, the Des Plaines Historical Society, the Des Plaines
22Historical Landmarks Commission, the Des Plaines 1976

1Bicentennial Commission, and the Clean Community Commission;
2he was president or chairman for most of these organizations
3and ran for mayor in 1973 and 1977; he retired to Lacon; and
 
4    WHEREAS, David Wolf is survived by his children, Karl Wolf,
5Kurt (Lauren) Wolf, Lisa (Richard) DeWitt, and Jonathan Wolf;
6his grandchildren, Keith, Kristopher, Kyle, Brian, and
7Melissa; and six great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10David Reinhardt Wolf, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of David Wolf as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
