SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Larry O. Klemm of Gurnee, who passed away on May 7, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Larry Klemm was born in Medford, Wisconsin to Margaret Thompsen and Arthur Klemm on June 4, 1928; he served in the United States Army in 1945 and graduated from Warren Township High School in 1947; and

WHEREAS, Larry Klemm enjoyed serving his community; he was a volunteer fireman in Gurnee; and

WHEREAS, Larry Klemm was a past president of the Gurnee Lion's Club and was an active member of the Gurnee American Legion; and

WHEREAS, Larry Klemm was the Gurnee Days Honoree in 2002, a distinction he treasured; and

WHEREAS, Larry Klemm is survived by his wife, Lois Klemm (Hagstrom); his children, Michael (Patty) Klemm, Mark (Michele) Klemm, Marty (Chris) Klemm, Maryl (Ken) Smith, and Margie Klemm; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Larry O. Klemm, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Klemm as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
