SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James "Jim" E. Pearson of Ringwood, who
4passed away on May 19, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Pearson was born in Woodstock to John and
6Arline (Harrison) Pearson on December 12, 1939; he graduated
7from McHenry High School and earned his master's degree in
8education and fine arts from Northern Illinois University; and
 
9    WHEREAS, James Pearson was an art teacher at Woodstock High
10School for 33 years, retiring in 1993; he was also an art
11instructor at McHenry County College for several years; he was
12a life member of the Illinois Teachers Association and a life
13member of the McHenry County Retired Teachers Association; he
14also served as a cartoonist for the Woodstock Independent for
15many years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, James Pearson was instrumental in restoring the
17ceiling paintings of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in
18Johnsburg; he was a life member of the McHenry County
19Historical Society, a life member of the Woodstock Fine Arts
20Association, and was involved in the preservation of the
21Woodstock Square; he was in charge of Ringwood Cemetery for
22over 25 years; he loved to travel all over the world and take

1pictures of art museums; and
 
2    WHEREAS, James Pearson was preceded by his parents and his
3niece, Elizabeth Ann Pearson; and
 
4    WHEREAS, James Pearson is survived by his brother, John
5(Bernice) Pearson, and his niece, Kathryn Marie Pearson;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9James "Jim" E. Pearson, and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of James Pearson as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
