SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mavis M. Landsverk of Wadsworth, who
4passed away on March 28, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mavis Landsverk was born in Waukegan on April 16,
61934; she grew up in North Chicago and graduated from Waukegan
7High School in 1952; she married Donald Landsverk in 1960 and
8they lived for many years in North Chicago; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Mavis Landsverk was a full time homemaker, but in
10her earlier years she worked for Johnson Motors in Waukegan and
11Neal Junior High School in North Chicago; she volunteered for
12over a decade with the St. Therese Hospital Hospice Care
13Program and assisted with a women's shelter in Gurnee; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mavis Landsverk loved gardening, going to
15concerts, craft fairs, and most of all spending time with her
16family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mavis Landsverk was preceded in death by her
19husband, Donald; her son, Steven; her mother, Valerie Lerm; and
20her father, George Johnson; and

1    WHEREAS, Mavis Landsverk is survived by her sons, Scott
2(Renee), Brian (Lori), and Stuart (Julie); her
3daughter-in-law, Suzanne (Steven); her stepdaughter, Connie
4(Bob) Besanson; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
5Andrew, Eric, Jack, Nathan Clark, Brett Clark, Addison Clark,
6Lisa Besanson, Robert Besanson, and Zach, Sarah, and Lilly
7Landsverk; her sister-in-law, Barbara Uttormark; and brothers
8and sisters, cousins, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Mavis M. Landsverk, and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Mavis Landsverk as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
