SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Brian Scott Anderson of Rockford, who
4passed away on June 19, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Brian Anderson was born in Rockford to Gene and
6Gina Anderson on March 8, 1954; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Brian Anderson owned the Anderson Automotive
8Group of Rockford and Loves Park; he started in the automotive
9business with his father, Gene Anderson, in 1970 in Loves Park
10with the Datsun-Saab franchise, which later became Nissan and
11Mazda; they added the Dodge and Toyota franchises in 1989; he
12retired in the early 1990s and went on to build one of the
13largest auto groups in Northern Illinois with 12 new car
14franchises and five locations in Rockford and Loves Park; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Brian Anderson's favorite pastime was competing
16in skeet tournaments across the United States; he won numerous
17awards, including Arizona State Champion in 2016 and 2017, and
18several placements at the world skeet championships; he was
19also a skeet coach and mentored many young athletes; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Brian Anderson was always willing to support
21community projects and charitable organizations, many times

1with little or no recognition; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Brian Anderson was preceded in death by his
3mother, Gina (Yeakle) Anderson; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Brian Anderson is survived by his wife, Judy
5Anderson; his son, Chad (Sara) Anderson; his daughter,
6Stephanie (Ryan) Finney; his father, Gene Anderson; his
7stepmother, Maggie Berkheimer; his grandchildren, Danny McGee,
8Meghan McGee, Taylor Anderson, Carter Finney, and Evelyn
9Finney; his brother, James (Elizabeth) Anderson; his sister,
10Cindy (Ted) Markee; his niece, Hailey Markee; and his nephews,
11Tom Anderson, Sam Anderson, Blaine Love, and Cole Love;
12therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Brian Scott Anderson, and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Brian Anderson as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
