SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charlene S. Reichert, who passed away on
4February 25, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charlene Reichert was born in Woodstock to Edwin
6F. and Eleanore (Rankin) Reid on May 19, 1948; she attended St.
7Patrick's School and graduated from McHenry Community High
8School in 1966; she married Thomas Reichert at St. Patrick
9Church in McHenry on May 5, 1973; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Charlene Reichert worked at The McHenry
11Plaindealer, setting type, and at the McHenry Medical Group,
12transcribing medical dictation; she also worked in clerical and
13administrative positions at Fifth Army Headquarters at Fort
14Sheridan, Great Lakes Naval Training Base in North Chicago, and
15USPFO Camp in San Luis Obispo, California; other than a couple
16of years spent in Texas, she and her family lived in San Diego,
17San Luis Obispo, and Carlsbad, California; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Charlene Reichert was a member of the Viscounts
19Drum & Bugle Corps and McHenry American Legion Auxiliary Post
20491; she was a fabulous cook and loved to entertain family and
21friends in her home; she also loved to travel, visiting nearly
22all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii; her travels also

1took her to England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, Norway,
2Switzerland, Germany, China, Canada, and Mexico; the last three
3years, she was full-time "Meema" to her adorable granddaughter,
4Fiona; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charlene Reichert was preceded in death by her
6parents; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Charlene Reichert is survived by her husband,
8Thomas; her children, Brittany Reichert, Shannon (Josh) Salic,
9and Trae Reichert; her grandchildren, Fiona and Landon; her
10siblings, Bud (Vikee) Reid, Bernadine (Michael) Mould, Ronald
11Reid, Cindy (Reid) Bateman, and Noelle (Terry) Reid-Andrews;
12her foster siblings, Paulo (Daisy) Lopes, Georgia (Evripidis)
13Panagopolou, and Patricia Harris; and many nieces, nephews,
14great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Charlene S. Reichert, and extend our sincere condolences to her
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Charlene Reichert as an expression
22of our deepest sympathy.
