SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Nicholas I. Fulop, who passed away on June 18, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Fulop was born in Budapest, Hungary to Margrete (Ratz) and Zolton Fulop on January 19, 1930; he honorably served in the United States Army in the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, For nearly 40 years, Nicholas Fulop served with distinction as general manager of the Quadrangle Club at the University of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Fulop was incredibly proud of his work in the restaurant industry, his wife's legendary broadcast career, his notable philanthropy and charitable endeavors, and when he could, his ability to predict stocks that would soar and profit; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Fulop enjoyed golf, Lipizzan horses, making gourmet meals, and traveling with his lady love, Merri Dee; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Fulop was the beloved and devoted husband of Merri Dee; the loving father of Toya (Kevin) Campbell; the cherished grandfather of Marissa, Jordan, and Kevin Campbell Jr.; the brother-in-law to Thyra (the late Harold) Clark, Doris Hill, and Ernest (the late Deonie) Blouin; the fond uncle of numerous nieces and nephews; the friend to adopted son, Richard (Julia Ann) Wright; and faithful friend to many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Nicholas I. Fulop, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Nicholas Fulop as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
