SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Barbara J. Preble of Joliet, who passed away on January 1, 2017 at the age of 94; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Preble was born in Morris to Clyde and Mabel (Brayton) Kilmer; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Preble was a registered nurse at Silver Cross Hospital with 60 years of service, 30 of those years as a volunteer; she enjoyed sewing, knitting, baking, and reading; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Preble was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; and her daughter, Jean Preble; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Preble is survived by her five children, Gail Bjekich, Chris (Pam) Preble, Ann (Dwight) Wernecke, Sue Whyte, and Lynn (Dan) Pavnica; her 12 grandchildren, Mandy (Eric) Robertson, Melissa (Kevin) Jacobs, Tracy (Andrew) Nesland, Erin Whyte, Justin Whyte, Kelly (Preston) Pierce, Dana Wernecke, Erik Wernecke, Brian Wernecke, Kevin (Brookley) Pavnica, Jozef Pavnica, and Kristyn Pavnica; and her eight great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Barbara J. Preble, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Barbara Preble as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
