SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ruth D. (Varnau) Wetekam of Crystal Lake,
4who passed away on July 1, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ruth Wetekam was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April
68, 1926; she married Harry Wetekam in 1948; they settled in
7Crystal Lake in 1973; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ruth Wetekam worked in the front office of the
9Country Gas Company for nearly two decades; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ruth Wetekam and her husband were members of First
11Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, where she dedicated much
12of her time to the church and the Women's Fellowship; she had a
13love of gardening and delighted in visiting flower gardens in
14various locales; she also enjoyed traveling with friends on
15cruise ships; her greatest pride was raising her children and
16being devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ruth Wetekam was preceded in death by her husband,
19Harry; her brother, William; and by her parents; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ruth Wetekam is survived by her children, Donald

1(Sheri), James (Nijjy), and Nancy (John); her grandchildren,
2Noelle, Daniel, Sarah, LeAna, Adam, and Andrew; and six
3great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Ruth D. Wetekam, and extend our sincere condolences to her
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Ruth Wetekam as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
