SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William M. "Billy" Stirbis of Joliet, who
4passed away on June 18, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Stirbis was born to Margaret (Ftacek) and
6William S. Stirbis on January 19, 1958; and
 
7    WHEREAS, William Stirbis began his career as a laborer on
8November 19, 1976 with Local #75; he was elected president on
9April 21, 2005 and retired on April 1, 2015; and
 
10    WHEREAS, William Stirbis enjoyed several hobbies
11throughout the years, including ice fishing, hunting, mushroom
12hunting, baseball, football, and fishing; his favorite pastime
13was watching his daughters and grand kids participate in
14sporting events; he was a fast pitch softball fanatic; and
 
15    WHEREAS, William Stirbis was preceded in death by his
16father, William S. Stirbis; a grandson; a brother; and several
17aunts and uncles; and
 
18    WHEREAS, William Stirbis was the beloved husband of 38
19years of Valerie (Cavanaugh) Stirbis; the loving father of
20Kelly (John) Christensen, Jenny Stirbis, and Katy Stirbis; the

1proud grandfather of Sophia, Brynn, Logan, Kenzie, and the late
2Aaden; the dearest son of Margaret Stirbis; the fond brother of
3Peggy Stewart, Sharron Stirbis, Cheryl Stirbis, and the late
4David Stirbis; he will also be missed by numerous nieces and
5nephews, many of who knew him as "Uncle Buck"; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8William M. "Billy" Stirbis, and extend our sincere condolences
9to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
10it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of William Stirbis as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
