SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Louis E. Hazelwood of Jerseyville, who
4passed away on January 11, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Louis Hazelwood was born in Jacksonville to Edward
6and Velma Reveal Hazelwood on March 5, 1938; he graduated from
7Jacksonville High School in 1956 and served in the United
8States Air Force from 1956 to 1960; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Louis Hazelwood worked at Oscar Mayer in
10Beardstown for several years before purchasing the Kampsville
11Inn in 1984, where he dedicated the next 32 years of his life;
12he was a previous owner of the Boatel in Naples; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Louis Hazelwood enjoyed collecting coins, boating
14on the river with his family and friends, and spending time at
15his condo in Florida; most of all he enjoyed spending time with
16his family; he loved his dogs, Lulu and Coco; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Louis Hazelwood was preceded in death by his
18parents; his infant brother, Larry Hazelwood; and his sister,
19Wanda Prather; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Louis Hazelwood is survived by his companion of 36

1years, Betty Kuhlman; his daughters, Leslie (Levi) Rogers, and
2Tracy (Richard) Hatfield; his sons, Noel (Katya) Hazelwood, and
3Todd (Kathy) Hazelwood; Betty's children, David Kuhlman, Scott
4Kuhlman, and Terry (Thelma) Kuhlman; his grandchildren, Megan
5and Zach Hatfield, Caitlyn, Emily, and Carlton Hazelwood,
6Makenzie Hazelwood, and Tiffany, Dillon, and Chris Kuhlman;
7four great-grandchildren; his niece, Mary (Charlie) Freeman;
8and his nephew, Larry (Amy) Prather; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Louis E. Hazelwood, and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Louis Hazelwood as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
