| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Ralph W. Swank Jr. of Vernon Hills, who | 4 | | passed away on August 3, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Swank was born in Greencastle, Indiana to | 6 | | Ralph Sr. and Mildred Swank on May 13, 1947; he graduated from | 7 | | Waukegan Township High School in 1965 and served in the United | 8 | | States Air Force during the Vietnam War; he graduated from | 9 | | DePauw University in 1969, where he was a member of the Sigma | 10 | | Nu Fraternity; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Swank was a Libertyville and Vernon Hills | 12 | | resident since 1973; he began his professional career with the | 13 | | Swank Insurance Agency in Waukegan; he later became the | 14 | | president of the Statewide Insurance Agency; he was past | 15 | | president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Swank served as Libertyville Township | 17 | | Supervisor for eight years; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Swank was a member of St. Lawrence Episcopal | 19 | | Church in Libertyville, where he was an active member of the | 20 | | men's group; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Swank was preceded in death by his parents; | 2 | | and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Swank is survived by his wife, Betsy Swank; | 4 | | his daughters, Lisa (Tom) Bako and Sarah (Brian) Mullen; his | 5 | | grandchildren, Matthew, Abby, Libby, Sean, and Kate; his | 6 | | siblings, Bryan (Mary), Wayne (Sheila), Jay (Betty), Rod | 7 | | (Alice), Darryl (Kim), Stuart (Annette), Sue (Mark) Pecher, and | 8 | | Marianne (Van) Buehler; and his uncle, Lee Swank; therefore, be | 9 | | it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Ralph W. Swank Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
