SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jerry Paul Fordyce, who passed away on August 2, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Fordyce was born in Southern Indiana to Melvin and Thelma Fordyce on February 28, 1947; he graduated from Greenville College, where he studied education and business; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Fordyce taught in Hazel Crest; and then turned his hobby into a career and worked for various landscape companies; he retired from Allied Nursery, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Fordyce was an avid Chicago Cubs fan; he was a lifelong Indiana University fan; he was completely committed and dedicated to his family; he always demonstrated loyalty to his friends, and he will be dearly missed; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Fordyce was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Frieda Ford; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Fordyce is survived by his loving wife, Sue (Heilstedt) Fordyce; his children, Lynn (Mike) Watson and Steve Fordyce; his grandchildren, Haley and Bryan Watson, Emma Fordyce, Brennan Hoffman, and Ryan Strunga; his sister, Melody (Michael) Sizemore; and his numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jerry Paul Fordyce, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jerry Fordyce as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
