SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Luke M. Feeney of Ivesdale, who passed away on August 30, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Luke Feeney was born in Ivesdale to William and Josephine (Clifford) Feeney on March 26, 1923; he married Margaret Elizabeth Tracy in Seymour on July 30, 1949; and

WHEREAS, Luke Feeney worked as a farmer; in 1983, he was named the Champaign News-Gazette Farm Leader of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Luke Feeney was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Ivesdale; he served on multiple church, farm, and community boards; he was an excellent example of a good man, husband, father, grandpa, and community member; and

WHEREAS, Luke Feeney was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; his daughter-in-law, Carol Feeney; his sisters, Ellen Brya and Mary Margaret Boland; and his brothers, William Feeney, John Feeney, and Francis Feeney; and

WHEREAS, Luke Feeney is survived by his sons, Patrick Feeney (Marilyn) and Michael Feeney (Vicki); his daughters, Kathleen Piatt (Dyke), Mary Lawrence (Barry), and Bernadette Easley (John); 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Luke M. Feeney, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Luke Feeney as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
