SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jon R. Lowrance of Assumption, who passed away on September 3, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Jon Lowrance was born in Pana to Orlando G. and Alice N. (McCloy) Lowrance on April 30, 1949; he graduated from Assumption High School in 1967 and served in the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, Jon Lowrance retired from Caterpillar, Inc., where he worked for 31 years; he also retired as chief of police for the City of Assumption, serving in law enforcement for over 45 years; and

WHEREAS, Jon Lowrance was a member of Owaneco United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Post 284, and Bromwell Lodge #451 A.F. & A.M., where he served as Grand Master; and

WHEREAS, Jon Lowrance was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, "Duffy" Lowrance; and his sister, Lisa Hartnell; and

WHEREAS, Jon Lowrance is survived by his daughters, Tricia (Cheri) Lowrance and Traci (Todd) Ater; his grandchildren, Drew Longbrake and Justice and Jadon Ater; his brother, Jerry Lowrance; his sisters, Jane (Rick) Oberbroeckling and LeAnn (Tony) Kersey; and numerous nephews and nieces; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jon R. Lowrance, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jon Lowrance as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
