| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Henry Robert Kloppenburg, of Springfield, | 4 | | who passed away on August 10, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Henry Kloppenburg was born in Springfield to Harry | 6 | | M. and Eunice (Chapman) Kloppenburg; he graduated from Lanphier | 7 | | High School in 1944; he earned a degree from Springfield Junior | 8 | | College, and also studied at the University of Illinois; he | 9 | | married Charliene Tucker on September 28, 1955; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Henry Kloppenburg was employed as a manager at | 11 | | Firestone; he also worked as vice president and general manager | 12 | | of Cox Transit Company, where he held a multi-engine pilot's | 13 | | license; he was part owner and operator of H.M. Kloppenburg & | 14 | | Sons; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Henry Kloppenburg served on the Springfield | 16 | | School Board, Prairie Capitol Convention Center Board, and was | 17 | | a past member of both the Toastmasters and Sangamo clubs; he | 18 | | was an avid hunter, fisher, and golfer, and enjoyed bridge club | 19 | | with friends; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Henry Kloppenburg was preceded in death by his | 21 | | parents; his brother, Bill; his sisters, Lorraine Hanrahan and |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Henry Kloppenburg is survived by his wife; his | 3 | | daughters, Christa (Jim) Fleming and Martha Kohlrus; his | 4 | | grandchildren, Amanda, Stephanie, and Megan Fleming, Tara | 5 | | (Frank) Kulavic, and Trevor Kohlrus; and his | 6 | | great-grandchildren, Cal and Posie Kulavic; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Henry Robert Kloppenburg, and extend our sincere condolences to | 10 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
