SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dorothy "June" Dunseth Myers of Springfield, who passed away on August 16, 2017; and

WHEREAS, June Myers was born in Waverly to Charles Edward Dunseth Sr. and Frances Eleanor (Johnson) Dunseth on June 29, 1932; she graduated from MacMurray College and earned a master's degree from California State University in Long Beach; she married Louis Shaver Myers in 1958; and

WHEREAS, June Myers taught in the Long Beach, California school system and also for District 186 in Springfield; she was employed by the Illinois Department of Public Health in the HIV/AIDS section for over 15 years; and

WHEREAS, June Myers volunteered at Memorial Medical Center; she was involved in many organizations, including the Springfield Art Association, Grateful Daughters Circle of the King's Daughters, the Historic Sites Commission of Springfield, the Ceramics and Crafts Club, and the Junior League of Springfield; and

WHEREAS, June Myers was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings; and

WHEREAS, June Myers is survived by her husband, Louis; her daughter Julie (Cass) Dunseth Myers Casper; her sons, Stephen (Terri Blake) Dunseth Myers and Scott (Erica M.) Dunseth Myers; and her grandchildren, Myers (Christine) Dill, Blake E. Myers, John W. S. Myers, Jake M. Myers, and Emiko M. Myers; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dorothy "June" Dunseth Myers, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of June Myers as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
