SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard Henry Kropp of Crystal Lake, who passed away on August 19, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kropp was born in Steubenville, Ohio to Edith and Henry Kropp on July 3, 1938; he earned a Bachelor of Arts from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania and served in the United States Army; he married Marilynn in Algonquin in 1990; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kropp was employed by Terra Cotta Industries for several years; for many years, he was the owner and operator of the Kropp Insurance Agency in Crystal Lake; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kropp served on the Crystal Lake City Council from 1979 to 1983; he was a member of the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce and was one of the original Crystal Lake Ambassadors; he loved his community and participating in community events and working with his neighborhood association board; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kropp was always up for a good card game with friends; his wonderful disposition and his positive outlook were a joy to his friends and family; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kropp was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Kropp; his mother-in-law, Gertrude Barker; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Charles Holmes; and his brother-in-law, Bill Baldauf; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kropp is survived by his wife, Marilynn; his niece, Dr. Debbie (John) Johnson; his step-children, Dana March (Jeff) Jucknowski and Christopher (Jennifer) March; his children, David (Jill) Kropp and Sarah (Jeff) Sedlack; his niece, Laura Barker and her children, Alex and Andrea; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Baldauf; his grandchildren, Jeremy March, Gianna Jucknowski, Jace Jucknowski, Korra Jucknowski, Andrew March, Evan March, Amber Kropp, and Mazie Sedlack; his nieces and nephews, Susan (Marty) Davis, Michael Holmes, Jean (Jim) Olsen, Carol (Keven) Gunwall, Rick Barker, Karen (John) Ross, Kathy (Bill) Jones, and Patti (Jim) Miegs; and numerous good friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard Henry Kropp, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Kropp as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
