1 SENATE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Aloysius and Lorraine (Serkowski)
4 Filipowicz of Lake Bluff, who passed away on September 13 and
5 September 14, 2017, respectively; and

6     WHEREAS, Aloysius Filipowicz served in the United States
7 Navy at Pearl Harbor during World War II; and

8     WHEREAS, Aloysius and Lorraine Filipowicz spent 72
9 inseparable years together; and

10     WHEREAS, Aloysius and Lorraine Filipowicz were preceded in
11 death by their son, Robert; and

12     WHEREAS, Aloysius and Lorraine Filipowicz are survived by
13 their son, Richard (Dorothy) Filipowicz; their daughter,
14 Patricia (Tony Schlei) Juhrend; five grandchildren; 15
15 great-grandchildren; and Aloysius' sister, Irene Marcinkowski;
16 therefore, be it

17     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
18 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19 both Aloysius and Lorraine Filipowicz, and extend our sincere
20 condolences to their family, friends, and all who knew and

1 loved them; and be it further

2     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the family of Aloysius and Lorraine Filipowicz as
4 an expression of our deepest sympathy.
