SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Lou Martin of Gurnee, who passed away on September 14, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Mary Lou Martin was born in Waukegan to Paul and Caroline Verenski on February 1, 1942; she attended Holy Rosary Grade School and graduated from North Chicago High School in 1959; and

WHEREAS, Mary Lou Martin began working at Ammco Tools after graduation; she retired from there in 1995; and

WHEREAS, Mary Lou Martin enjoyed card making, knitting, crocheting, counted cross stitch, reading, camping, boating, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren; she especially enjoyed traveling with her grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Mary Lou Martin was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elmer and Sue Martin; and her brother-in-law, Elmer; and

WHEREAS, Mary Lou Martin is survived by her husband, Dennis; her son, Jeffery (Paula); her stepsons, Dean (Julie) and Dale (Jean); her grandchildren, Zackery, Megan, and Joseph; her step-grandchildren, Heather, Nikki, and Morgan; her step-great-grandchildren, Brantley and Westyn; her sister, Dorothy (Ray) Shebesta; her brother, Paul (Paula) Verenski; and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mary Lou Martin, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Lou Martin as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
