SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard C. Mankowski of Harvard, who passed away on September 11, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Richard Mankowski was born in Chicago to Marion and Steven Mankowski on May 16, 1936; he served in the United States Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Richard Mankowski was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and belonged to the Knights of Columbus, where he was the financial secretary for many years; he was in charge of St. Joseph's Bingo in Harvard, along with his friend Charlie Calvin; and

WHEREAS, Richard Mankowski was a loyal Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Blackhawks fan; he loved to travel and was always ready to pack his bags; he especially loved going to Mesa, Arizona in March to watch the spring training of the Cubs and vacationing in Scottsdale, Arizona; and

WHEREAS, Richard Mankowski is survived by his wife of 56 years, Charlotte; his daughters, Jacklyn Mankowski and Laurie (Chris) Stanley; his grandchildren, Maranda, Jacob, and Mason; and his brothers, Danny (Judy) Mankowski and David (Nancy) Mankowski; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard C. Mankowski, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Mankowski as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
