SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ethel "Dolly" Golwitzer Flesher of Waukegan, who passed away on December 16, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Dolly Flesher was born on December 8, 1917; she retired from Great Lakes Hospital, where she worked as a purchasing agent; and

WHEREAS, Dolly Flesher was active in her community; she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Libertyville O.E.S., the Masonic Ladies Auxiliary, the Dunesland Garden Club, the Clara Cummings Book Club, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Senior Council, the Waukegan Historical Society, the Lake County Sweet Adelines, the Lake County Republicans Club, and the Woman's Circle at the First United Methodist Church in Waukegan; she was a co-coordinator and instructor for Mouse Club Computer Classes at the Waukegan Park Place Senior Center and a 30-year volunteer at Vista East; she was a past Worthy Matron of the Waukegan order of Eastern Star and a past President of the Waukegan Woman's Club, Lake County Chapter AARP #1509, and the Ladies Auxiliary Kenosha Shrine Club; and

WHEREAS, Dolly Flesher was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; and

WHEREAS, Dolly Flesher was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Golwitzer Sr.; her second husband, Charles (Bill) Flesher; her son, Gary Golwitzer Sr.; her daughter, Donna Walles; her granddaughter, Sharon Stojak; her great-grandsons, Michael and Jimmy Mortensen; her great-granddaughter, Alexis Golwitzer; her daughters-in-law, Judy Golwitzer and June Golwitzer; her sons-in-law, Donald Verne Jr. and Michael Walles; her brothers, Merton W. Davis and Wesley R. Davis; and her sister, Mildred Goerler; and

WHEREAS, Dolly Flesher is survived by her sons, Clyde W. Golwitzer and Brian (Lori) Golwitzer Sr.; her daughters, Jacquelyn Verne and Dawn (Jesse) Arroyo; her 13 grandchildren; her 27 great-grandchildren; and her 14 great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ethel "Dolly" Golwitzer Flesher and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dolly Flesher as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
