SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gerald W. Maddox of Moline, who passed away on July 8, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Maddox was born in Davenport, Iowa to George Warren and Ruth H. (Turner) Maddox on September 24, 1940; he graduated from Moline High School and Black Hawk College and served in the U.S. Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Maddox retired from Deere and Co. in 1995; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Maddox enjoyed billiards, bowling, golf, tennis, riding motorcycles, hunting, and traveling; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Maddox was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Maddox is survived by his daughter, Shanon Maddox; his son, Gerek; his granddaughter, Alyssa H. Maddox; and numerous cousins, including Nancy Seelow; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gerald W. Maddox and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gerald Maddox as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
