SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William "Bill" J. Lockhart of Springfield, who passed away on July 6, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart was born to William H. and Nina Frances (Crabtree) Lockhart in Winchester on July 13, 1928; he graduated from Springfield High School in 1939 and attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C.; he married Charlotte Elaine Lantz at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield on November 22, 1951; and

WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until he retired in 1963; he was the Senior Vice President and Trust Financial Planning Officer for Bank of America in Delray Beach, Florida until he retired in 1989; he then worked as a Private Trust Consulting Officer in mid-Florida, retiring in 1993; and

WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart was a former member of the Sangamo Club and numerous clubs in Florida; he served on the board of directors for the original Springfield Theater Guild and was a past National Commander of the Navy Club of America; and

WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Pat Hesse; and

WHEREAS, Bill Lockhart is survived by his wife, Charlotte; his numerous nieces and nephews, including Debra (David) Bruce and Steve (Becky) Hesse; and his several cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that that we mourn the passing of William "Bill" J. Lockhart and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bill Lockhart as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
