SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William "Bill" Earl Donaldson of Springfield, who passed away on July 8, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Bill Donaldson was born to Earl and Opal (Washington) Donaldson in Springfield on March 12, 1945; he was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Purple Heart; and

WHEREAS, Bill Donaldson loved his dog, Missy, and enjoyed riding his Honda Motorcycle and watching Star Trek; he liked to fix cars in his younger years, especially pickup trucks; and

WHEREAS, Bill Donaldson was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Gary Donaldson, Ruth Allen, Shirley Harwood, and Velma McMurray; and

WHEREAS, Bill Donaldson is survived by his close friends, Lisa Elfgen, Julia Elfgen, and Logan Elfgen and his many other beloved friends in the community; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William "Bill" Earl Donaldson and extend our sincere condolences to all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bill Donaldson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
